HalfPrice New Album?

According to sources close to HalfPrice, they are recording final demos at the moment and will begin recording their new album in July. Is the world ready?

MISLED back together!

Hardcore punks Misled have re-formed. After a break from the music scene and gigging, the guys have decided to get back out and start kicking ass. They will still be playing old tracks from their album “The Demeaning Of Life”, and begin working on some new ones. Watch this space.

EXPLOITED live in SA!

Punk Rock legends THE EXPLOITED playing two shows in South Africa!

“Riot starting, bouncer bashing, cop baiting, hotel trashing, foul talking, noise making, chaos causing, venue wrecking, government hating, rulebreaking, unrelenting, punk rocking. Clearly we’re not talking about Pepsi adverts, or indeed the many so-called punk bands that would gleefully sell themselves to such corporate giants for a palm full of silver. Whoo-hoo! The taste of a generation! F#%k off! Let’s get one thing straight: The Exploited are not ‘punkers’ or any of the other cutesy, watered down, MTV friendly names you might want to call them.”

Formed in Edinburgh in 1980 by ex-soldier Wattie Buchan, The Exploited were at the helm of the harder, second wave of Punk Rock along with bands like Discharge and GBH. Their debut release was as much a rallying battle cry as a record and ‘Punk’s Not Dead’ went on to become the number one independent album of 1981 reaching number 20 in the UK mainstream charts Which kind of proved the point, If punk was indeed dead, no one had told the bands rapidly growing ‘Barmy Army’.

With a string of high charting independent releases and over 20 years of vigorous touring The Exploited have reached iconic punk status worldwide and have been covered and cited as major influences by many acts including Slayer, Queens Of The Stoneage (whom Wattie presented with a ‘Best International Newcomers’ award at the Kerrang Awards in 2000), Atari Teenage Riot, Nirvana (Ex-Exploited guitarist Big John even played for them briefly) and Massive Attack.

“F#%k The System’ their eighth studio album sees the band on more explosive form than ever, riotous, unrepentant and wholly uncompromising. Tracks like ‘Never Sell Out’ and ‘Chaos Is My Life’ (both self-explanatory) are as brutally heavy as anything bands half their age have to offer and prove beyond doubt that, not only is there life in the old dog yet, but this band’s got rabies! ‘F#%k The System’ isn’t just an album title; it’s a statement of intent. But then again, it is a punk rock album, and make no mistake…

The Exploited are punk rock!

8 Ball Madness

Stones 29th MarchRoadshock and Stones Edenvale present: 8 Ball Madness, a series of events happening from March through to the end of April with some of the top local bands appearing live.

The second edition of the series on the 29th of March and will consist of Punk, Ska and Voodoo Rock ‘n Roll featuring Ska-Kings Fuzigish with up and coming Voodoo Rockers Submachine and punkers Ill Audio. Fuzigish will be headlining the evening so be sure to get there early.

Fuzigish need no introduction, what with them being mainstays of the Ska/Punk scene for well over 10 years. Their latest albums “Roll with the punches” is critically acclaimed and saw the band feature on the Footskating 101 sound track as well as appear in the movie. They’ve toured Europe and Australia and they’re still rocking out!
Submachine are relative new comers to the scene as a band, but the members are old hands at it. Featuring members of (past and present) the Slashdogs, Death Valley Blues Band and End of My Leave, these Voodoo rockers are sure to win over new fans with their unique blend of Voodoo rhythms, Ska and punk.
Ill Audio have also been around for a while – going back to the time when Mohawks were still seen as being rebellious and punk was a relatively underground sound. The times have changed but their sound has continued to please audiences in all major cities around SA.

The event kicks off at 8pm and there will be loads of drinks specials as well as half price entrance for all ladies.
